Dear Friends and Supporters,
The 2008 election is over and the majority of the voters in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District have chosen to select Congresswoman Betty Sutton to a second term in office. I congratulate her on her victory.
My family and I would like to thank everyone who helped us in this campaign. I am humbled at the countless number of people (most of whom had never participated in a political campaign before) who offered their time, talents, prayers and monetary contributions to this effort.
While losing is never pleasant, I am extremely proud of the race that my campaign waged. This was the second election in a row that Republicans across the country and within Ohio have performed poorly. Yet, in our District, nearly four out of ten citizens voted for me. I won the election in four municipalities of the District including Strongsville and Brecksville, and lost Cuyahoga County by less than 1% of the total votes cast. Those four municipality victories were double the number from 2006. The results that I posted in Cuyahoga and Medina Counties were also better than 2006.
Given the significant funding short-fall compared to 2006, along with the state of our economy, I am amazed that I even secured 25% of the vote. Hopefully Congresswoman Sutton will see this in the numbers, however, I doubt that she will. Her addiction to power and her liberal agenda that rewards her special interest groups, is what drives her.
I wish you and your families all the best for good health and prosperity in the future. May God deeply bless you in the upcoming holiday season.
Kindest regards,
Dave |
